Running with Todd - Legg Lake Marathon - #55

Today I'm feeling good. I slept well and I'm ready for day 3 of my triple weekend. My idol and marathon buddy Larry was present and so was Hydrive Energy drink. The first half of the marathon was nice and cool compared to yesterday's 109 degrees!

I managed to finish 6:48:11 The fastest way to become the Master of your thoughts and emotions is through challenging situations. If your life is going along fairly smoothly, there are not the same opportunities that enable you to strengthen your power and become the Master of your thoughts and emotions. You see, even challenges are beautiful opportunities in disguise. The Secret

Running with the Devil - Marathon # 54

Running with the Devil was run in 109 degree heat at Lake Mead in Nevada. I did the Devil in 2008 in 115 degree heat and this year it was much cooler. This is Maniac Mitch and his first Devil run. Abby is running the Devil 50 miler. This is Abby's 4th 50 miler. Good luck Abby!

At mile 15 I was feeling great!!! You are weighed at the half way point and I didn't lose any weight. Yippee!!!! At mile 20 it started...heat exhaustion, stomach issues and dizziness. Mile 23 I started praying..."please let me finish without throwing up." I finished 7:20:34 Thank you my loving and supportive husband for driving me home and pulling over 4 times so that I may throw up. I lost 12 pounds... I'm fine and now I'm ready for "BADWATER"

The rolling hills of the Desert Canyon road...

Father's Day Marathon - #52

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL THE FATHERS! A special Happy Father's Day to my husband Roger, you raised 3 amazing and beautiful children. Nilka, RJ, & Tiffany!

Sleep is becoming a luxury. I drove all night from the Bay Area and I got an hour of sleep again. The Father's Day Marathon was run in beautiful Coto de Caza on well groomed horse trails. It was an honor to run with my idol Mr. Larry Macon. MM Dave completed his 105th lifetime marathon which took him 20 years and it only took Larry one year to complete 105 marathons. Congrats Dave!

Dave from Phoenix is running his first half marathon. Good luck Dave!

Slow Jim is not as slow as he thinks and Mr. Hayward is working on his 10th marathon of the year. What a blessing, Ed's father's day gift was to have Ethan & Andrea run a half marathon with him. I finished 7:09:50

This is my dad, Jimmy. Jimmy passed away 8 years ago. I feel Jimmy is with me on this journey. Growing up when I would get upset or stressed Jimmy would say...relax, relax!!!

Lord, someone I loved died today, and there's this great empty spot in my heart. I need you to fill it, to assure me that I will see my dad again in the Kingdom that you promised. Help me to shed honest tears, but also to remember all that was good between us. Help me to honor the memory of our relationship by sharing love with others even as love was shared with me. When God picks flowers, he picks the most precious and beautiful to bring home... Happy Father's Day Jimmy....I love you and miss you!

Angel Island Trail Run 50K - #51

Angel Island Trail 50K was my first marathon of my second half. It was a beautiful morning and you could see all of the San Francisco Bay. I love San Francisco!!! This trail is an easy trail for first timers. Angel Island is a hilly, grass and forest covered island that has spectacular views of the San Francisco Bay. This is Rosie from Hawaii and she knows a few of the Honolulu Maniacs. This is her 7th marathon. We both were in aha...What a beautiful day to be in the Bay.

The 25K had 3 loops around the island with the third loop taking you to the summit. The 50K you did twice. Each loop you had to walk up the stairs. My last loop I hated those stairs. 143 steps, 6 times!!! I was fatigue; I only had an hour of sleep. I missed
my last year's time by 8 minutes. I finished 7:32:00. Niece Jessica said I'm a "strong diva!" Thanks Jessica I needed to hear that.

LIFELINE
Each of us is born on a line; from the moment of conception to the moment of our death, we are all on a lifeline. The passage from one point to the next is filled with experiences and interactions, and each of us will express our true spirits as these moments present themselves. The journey is one of progression; it is a contemplation of the future. We are all searching for something, traveling towards our dreams. What exists now is really all that ever exists; we cannot feel the past of a thousand years nor can we touch the lifeline of tomorrow. We dance to the music of here and now; we sing the songs of today. We have an understanding about who we are and what destiny is ours to fulfill. Let the winds of change blow all around you and follow your lifeline wherever it may lead, knowing that others are pursuing their fate on different pathways leading them in different directions. Each and every one of us will find a true sense of purpose if we travel our own roads on our own lifeline.

Estes Park Marathon - Day 3 - My 50th Marathon

I DID IT!!! I'M HALF WAY TO GUINNESS!!! My 50th marathon this year!!! It may have rained on my parade but the rain didn't take away my joy!!! Estes Park Marathon is my favorite marathon. This was my 3rd year and my best marathon this year. I had no altitude problems, no stomach issues, and no headache. I was wet but set to go the distance. 26.2 miles to my 50th marathon. I finished 5:55:52 Yippee!!! Check out the video:

Irlan finished her first triple. Congrats Irlan!!!

I'm so happy! TO GET WHAT YOU WANT OUT OF LIFE....It takes believing in your dreams and in what you know to be true. Surviving disappointments and the times when you're truly alone. Awakening to see that you have made it through the difficult times with only yourself to depend on. It takes facing the truth that only you can shape your destiny. Realizing that the footsteps you take today are the ones that will lead you into tomorrow, and they must be guided by an unswerving faith in yourself. Understanding that the failures, setbacks, and hurts life often gives us all only serve as steppingstones to true happiness, and if you follow the trail instead of turning back, only then will you recognize your strengths and be able to view life from the summit.
