CARRY ON AS COURAGEOUSLY AS YOU CAN
Problems and predicaments come to us all. There's no sign saying, "You must be this tall..." to ride on the emotional roller coasters that take so many of us for a spin. The bad news is that there are times when we're passengers...whether we like it or not. The good news is that we can always choose to get off at the next stop. Know how strong and capable you are. You have weathered times before that had difficulty and frustration. And - just as sure as the sun will rise in the morning - you can rise to this occasion.

Mesquite Marathon - Marathon #96
Mesquite Marathon was not my scheduled marathon. I was scheduled to do Valley of the Fire Marathon in Overton Nevada. After arriving to Valley of the Fire Marathon, I was informed that the full marathon was cancelled due to gusty winds. I didn't panic! I remember that there was a marathon in Mesquite Nevada. It was 64 miles to Mesquite. I called my husband and asked him for the details of Mesquite Marathon. I arrived at Casa Blanca Hotel were the buses were leaving to take you to the start. The full marathons buses had left. I told Carrie my story and she said no problem and started calling the race director to arrange a ride to the start. Chris was listening and said I will drive you. Chris drove me to the start and I was only 35 minutes late. Chris was my Angel! I even managed to finish less than 7 hours clock time 6:43:11 and I wasn't last!!! God is good! Mesquite Marathon takes place in Mesquite Nevada. The course is along the old highway from St. George Utah to Mesquite Nevada. The surrounding area is scenic with rolling hills and tall red rocks.
"IN THE SPOTLIGHT"
Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.
-Martin Luther King Jr.
Faith is what keeps us waking up day after day to face the challenges that come our way. It's leaning on a God whose strength is unending. It's believing that there is a purpose in whatever we're facing, or at the very least knowing that He will make some good come out of the situation. It's taking our fears, our doubts, our frustrations, our hurts, our injustices, and our insecurities to God and letting Him give us instead courage, confidence, and peace. Faith is what keeps us going long after those without faith might have given up.

ECO Catalina Island Marathon - Marathon #94
Catalina Island Marathon was held in Avalon-Catalina Island California. I got a little sea sickness on the ferry ride. The course was hard, challenging, and beautiful with single track trails, ridgelines and spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. I finished 7:08:59
This is Molly and this is her first marathon. I am so impressed that she would pick a hard trail marathon for her first. Wow Molly, good job!
When we face disappointments, challenges and obstacles, the first thing we ask is, "Why me?" We don't always realize that things happen to us according to our dominant thoughts, words and deeds. Even when we work really hard to keep ourselves in a positive frame of mind, things happen. When events occur that we don't expect, they increase our faith, strengthen our ability to endure and bring forth our hidden talents, abilities and strengths. Why me? As Les Brown would say, "Why not you? Would you like to recommend someone else? Why you? Because you can handle it. Because you really do know what to do. Because you need a little nudge every now and then to keep you on or put you back on track. So the next time something happens to you, remember, things don't just happen. They happen the way they should, at just the right time, to the right people. Our job is to know we are equipped to handle it.
